Hi, I'm Julia Jorns.

Ever since I was a kid I've always had a camera trying to capture the things going on around me. This hobby grew into my favorite class in high school, to my college major, and now my career path!

I graduated from Kansas State in 2020 with my degree in Journalism, with an emphasis in Digital Media. While my love for photo and video lies in the sports world, it's grown to helping seniors document their accomplishments, families capture moments of their kids growing up, and everything in between. Family Support

I wouldn't be where I am in life in terms of personal, professional, and faith aspects without my incredible support system. My dad and brother have had my back on everything I do. From exploring my passions to helping me move out of state and making sure we always catch our favorite teams playing at home and on the road.

Finding my passion

Like I mentioned before, I've always been fascinated with cameras. Whether that was my love for finding old ones or being excited by all the stuff newer ones could do. But where I really honed in on this was my freshman year of high school when I enrolled in our media program. From day one, my teacher, Mr. Avery, helped me see it with new excitement. I couldn't learn about it fast enough and soon I was in the third level of the class my sophomore year where we produced an award-winning tv show! His constant encouragement for finding new ways to tell stories (especially sports ones), and also some criticism, were all such vital parts that led me to where I am today!

Important friendships

We're lucky in life in we get even one best friend for even just a small part of our lives. But man, did I hit the jackpot early on with this friendship. Trinidad, pictured to the left, has been by my side and through it all with me since we started pre-k. Yep, I'm being completely serious. You can ask our parents, they both became friends because she and I bonded so fast. Through growing up, the awkward teenage years, family struggles, and life losses, she has always had my back. Even when I moved 300+ miles away for college out of state, she's still there for me through everything listening to my stories and giving advice. She's one of my biggest supporters in what I do, including photography!
