A little more about me

Hey there! My name is Julia Jorns and from my brief intro above, you can see I'm the one behind the camera. The name Kipper Creative came from a nickname I had during a summer in college where I worked as a Media Specialist at Camp Lutherhoma. It was one of my favorite places growing up, and always the best part of my summer. So I figured why not bring that into this venture?

I grew up in Norman, Oklahoma and while I miss the breathtaking sunsets, my friends, and my little niece and nephew, I moved to Manhattan, Kansas aka 'The Little Apple' (Yes, really) to get my degree in Broadcast Journalism. I've always loved sports and you can usually find me at a game! I was always with my dad any time K-State rolled into town or the Royals minor league affiliate came to play in Oklahoma City. My high school broadcast class was where I found my passion for capturing stories through video. I worked for K-State Sports for my four years of college running cameras on game days or working in the control room or truck.

My love for capturing memories and creating fun adventures started with sports video and broadcast, but now I love getting to constantly learn how to document major accomplishments and fun times through photography. I've settled in Kansas City, Missouri and I couldn't be happier living here! I've always wanted to call this city home and I never imagined I'd get to right out of college.
